Welcome to the 2026-2027 School Year!

Dear Riverside Virtual School Students, Families, and Staff,

Welcome back!  As we step into the 2026-2027 school year, I am filled with immense pride, renewed energy and my commitment to our community has never been stronger.

Last year, we set out to blaze new trails. This year, we are focused on deepening our roots, expanding our horizons, and elevating what it means to be an RVS Trailblazer.

At the center of my educational philosophy are three core catalysts for growth:

  • Curiosity:  Igniting the desire to ask "why" and explore new ideas.
  • Passion:  Finding the joy and purpose in what we study and create.
  • Resiliency:  Developing the mental fortitude to view setbacks as stepping stones.

When we weave these three elements into our daily virtual interactions, students don't just pass classes—they develop the character and independence needed to thrive in an ever-changing world.

Owning Our Journeys. True success comes from taking the driver's seat in your own education. We maintain high standards, celebrate our victories, and responsibly own our mistakes, knowing that accountability builds integrity and self-reliance.

D – Determined

Rising Above Obstacles. The path to success is rarely a straight line. When the coursework gets tough or tech glitches happen, our determination defines us. We lean into perseverance, knowing that grit today builds the courage we need for tomorrow.

  • To Our Students:  You are the heart of RVS. Each of you brings a unique perspective, distinct talents, and limitless potential to our digital campus. Own your education, support your peers, and let the L.E.A.D. pillars guide your path this year.
  • To Our Staff:  You are the architects of this virtual landscape.  Your innovation, dedication, and ability to foster deep connections across a digital screen are what make RVS an extraordinary place to learn.  Thank you for your tireless commitment to cultivating curiosity, passion, and resiliency in our students every single day.  I am honored to lock arms with you as we push the boundaries of modern education and inspire excellence together.

I am incredibly excited for the milestones, breakthroughs, and celebrations that await us over the next ten months. Let’s make this school year our most collaborative and inspiring one yet.
